This fine white colored powder has been used in many ways since 1800. In ancient Egypt, baking soda was used like soap and in 1800s it was used to preserve fish. Of course, even now we include baking soda as an ingredient in many products like tooth paste, personal care items, to neutralize batteries and in food. Still we’re leaving behind lots of nutritional values of baking soda by not using it as a home remedy to treat diseases.

Main advantage of baking soda for skin is that it regulates pH level.

Pimples or acne on face are caused due to 3 main reasons,

  • Accumulation of dead cells on pores
  • Bacterial infection
Baking soda because of its pH regulating propriety it controls excess oil and with its antiseptic propriety terminates bacterial infection. Topical application of baking soda helps to exfoliate dead cells. Thus this simple home remedy can treat acne.

Note: Don’t compare baking soda to pricey professional medications, for serious problems visit dermatologist.
